Firstly many adults including parents should know the safety rules for Bonfire Night! To Do With Fireworks & Bonfires.

The majority of accidents happen at private parties. Organised displays will be safer than having a party of your own. If you do hold your own party, make sure you follow the firework code, shown below....

*Firework Code*

  • Only buy fireworks marked BS 7114.

  • Don't drink alcohol if setting off fireworks.

  • Keep fireworks in a closed box.

  • Follow the instructions on each firework.

  • Light them at arm's length, using a taper.

  • Stand well back.

  • Never go near a firework that has been lit.

  • Even if it hasn't gone off, it could still explode.

  • Never put fireworks in your pocket or throw them.

  • Always supervise children around fireworks.

  • Light sparklers one at a time and wear gloves.

  • Never give sparklers to a child under five.

  • Keep pets indoors.

  • Don't let off fireworks after 11pm.

*Bonfire Safety Tips*

If you have a bonfire, follow these simple guidelines:

  • Warn your neighbours beforehand - so they are aware and can make necessary preparations.

  • Only burn dry material, do not burn anythign which is wet or damp, this causes more smoke.

  • Check there are no cables (telephone wires etc) above the bonfire.

  • Build the bonfire away from sheds, fences and trees.

  • Don't use petrol or paraffin to start the fire it can get out of control quickly.

  • Once the bonfire is lit, make sure you:

1. Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby - in case of emergencies.

2. Don't leave the bonfire unattended.

3. Keep children and pets away from the bonfire.

4. Don't throw any fireworks into the fire Don't burn aerosols, tyres, canisters or anything containing foam or paint - this could produce toxic fumes and some containers may explode, causing injury.

5. Once the bonfire has died down, spray the embers with water to stop it reigniting.

*Keeping Warm Afford The Cold*

Now that the weather is truly cold and there won’t be no more sun til next year! Everyone is gonna need to be snug as a bug while standing around in the crisp nighttime air.

Few Top Tips To Keeping Warm....

1. Hot Coco,Coffee or Tea will do in a quick moment but to really warm yourself from the inside, nothing does the trick like one small Brandy or Hot soup into a flask. 2. Dress up warm, with a hat, gloves, scarf, woolly socks, a warm winter coat and wellies.

3. Still a bit chilly? Take a thick blanket and wrap it round your shoulders. For optimum effect, it is always cosiest to share it with someone but if it’s not the case then double wrap yourself. 4. Don't stop moving. Standing still for long periods can really make the cold set in, so keep stomping your feet, rubbing your arms, and moving about. 5. A super secret tip for staying toasty is to slip a few hand warmers into your pockets before leaving the house. Just pop in the microwave for the necessary amount of time and put them under your gloves in your pant pockets and any other desired places and you are ready to go.

And that people is the proper guidelines from NHS/National Fire Service. Hope you all have an amazing Bonfire Night! Stay Safe.
